“Franciscanos Pauperes Iesus Christi” - “Franciscans Poor of Jesus Christ”

Every religious consecration has, at its origin, a story of love and surrender between God and man.

The initiative is His. It is He who calls and chooses “You didn’t choose me, but I chose you. I have appointed you to go, to produce fruit that will last” (Jn 15, 16).

Our response free and anxious to this invitation configures our life to His, making us an ‘alter Christ’ - other Christ.

With Him and for Him we become poor, chaste and obedient, living in community and in a total giving of ourselves to the poor in their multiple faces: sister and brothers in the situation of homelessness, of prostitution, of drug addiction imprisoned, of human degradation.

This total giving has for us a sacred value. This is why we profess a fourth vow that is of “total availability to the poor”.

Our daily life is divided in moments of prayer, adoration, reparation, Holy Mass, meditation of the Holy Rosary, manual and domestic work, service to the poor, formation.

A person who desires to embrace our life passes through a process of accompaniment that lasts six months to one year. After this, they are admitted as an Internal Vocation, and the other stages that follow: aspirant, petulancy and novitiate. At the end of the novitiate that lasts two years, they then profess publicly the Evangelical Counsels.
